“If You Are Always Trying to be Normal, You Will Never Know How AMAZING You Can Be!” – Maya Angelou –
There are moments in life that demand we show up – that we let go of who we think we’re supposed to be and embrace who we really are.
Do you feel you’ve passed your Prime and are just marking time?
Are you concerned that maybe your life is not where you want it to be and are now feeling stuck?
How much time do you take to think about who you are and where you want to be?
Do you find yourself NOT doing the things you know you should be doing?
These are some questions that deserve serious thought.
In spite of what you may be going through, it’s a wonderful time to be a woman! This is a time when women, and our unique qualities, play a much more visible role in shaping our world than in the past.
Problem is we spend our days doing, watching, responding and we don’t think about our lives at a deep enough level to make a difference for ourselves and those around us.
The magic pathway on the journey to self-empowerment is the unwavering willingness to look at yourself truthfully, accepting what you see and acknowledging how extraordinary you are.
The principle message here on Your Best You is intended to inspire you to spend some time with yourself and gather up the little pieces of yourself you may not have embraced, or that you have perhaps given away or ignored.
THERE’S POWER IN REINVENTION
Every day, in every way, women are reinventing themselves. Reinvention means being aware of when the time comes to redefine yourself.
There’s a lot of value in taking stock of your life. If you know you need a change, but are stuck, then it is probably time for reinvention.
As women we grow through many metamorphoses in our lifetimes, each one smacking us with more intensity than the one before, and each one designed to see yourself truthfully, and seek enlightenment on how to move your life to the next level. Each new level will be a truer expression of who you are at that point in your life.
True reinvention happens on the inside more than on the outside, with the greatest tool for creating your new reality being in your mind. How? Because enclosed within your mind are your beliefs, your memories, your desires and your goals and dreams.
To reinvent yourself means going deeper into yourself and connecting more closely with your most authentic, creative self at this particular time of your life. The direction of your reinvention should ALWAYS be toward being Your Best You.
It’s worth remembering that it’s never too late to ‘revise’. Such a transformation could be mental, spiritual, physical or all of the above.
Revise means to change, to amend or correct, something already present, already formed. You can’t start from the beginning, you have to work with what you have. The good news is, you already have so much.
An ordinary woman is mostly influenced by her environment alone.
That being said, there are certain power moves to make that will shift you toward that of being an extraordinary woman who develops the self-discipline and spiritual focus to shape your own life.
As soon as we begin slowing down our own thoughts, eliminating the negative self-talk, and taking time for pampering, enlightenment and refocusing on our hopes and dreams, we can automatically see real changes in our own lives and much more enjoyment.
These Four Power Moves allow you to wake up your own self-empowerment and have the life you want:
POWER MOVE #1 – Trust the Power of your Intention. You may wake up one morning saying to yourself – “This is NOT working. I am not happy. This is the first step. Your next step after that? Intention.
Your Intention is what gets the ball rolling. Intention = results, always. This is the basic truth about life. This means sharing your Vision with the world in a much bigger way. Lifestyle changes don’t come from the brain. They come from intention, determination, judgment and understanding. All traits of the Mind.
Sometimes, once you set your Intention – you may experience a ‘slow-down’ period. That’s because you have to let go of the OLD to make room for the NEW you want to happen. Therefore, when you think you have committed to a new way of life and it isn’t happening, self-awareness must enter here. Take a long hard look at the results you’re getting – it’s what you intended.
POWER MOVE #2 – Cultivate your OWN Personal Brand This power move is meant to encourage you to embrace those things about yourself as the qualities that make you special and unique, and to understand how others are influenced by you.
Whether you like it or not, you do have a Brand. Personal Branding is what makes you uniquely you. It’s all of you from your appearance to your opinions to your knowledge and expertise. A fraction of it is even includes what you do for a living.
Cultivating your Personal Brand is essential on your path to empowerment. You will magnify the inner and outer essence of the YOU that you present to the world.
POWER MOVE #3 – Move beyond your Comfort Zone. Our comfort zone is a very seductive place. We know it well. We feel safe there, and it is very easy to get lulled into believing this is the sensible place to be living our lives. However, to step out of your Comfort Zone and trust that you’re going to build something new takes quite an effort.
Simply put, our Comfort Zone is a behavioral place where your activities and behavior fit a pattern and a routine that minimizes stress and risk.
However, there is no creature alive that truly thrives living in a contained area; and that really is what our comfort zone is. It is a small, confined area that, although may provide us with an illusion of safety, it actually denies us any opportunity to expand our skills, talents, knowledge, and sense of personal power.
POWER MOVE #4 – Eliminate your Emotional Debt. When you’re in emotional debt, you’re pessimistic about the future. You often revisit the past to remedy the shortfalls of love and the missed opportunities you’ve suffered. The past isn’t over as long as these debts remain unpaid.
It takes constant work not to fall into this trap. You may have more fears and hurt feelings than you let on. You must work hard to resolve these feelings.
The purpose of getting rid of emotional debt is to find yourself in the present. The present is for action, for doing, for becoming and for growing. Psychiatrists say that having stored up feelings is emotional debt.
Now may be a good time to take inventory of the circumstances, environmental factors and relationship unhappiness you have in your life that you could do without. Taking on the hard work of recognizing the incredible power inside you will reveal some aspects of you that may require attention, some aspects that need a small amount of work, and other aspects may even require intensive care!
When you make these Power Moves, you allow yourself to expand to the next level and deepen your commitment to your true self.
This leads to greater trust and faith in your gifts, talents and abilities. Because, trust in yourself is the pipeline through which your power flows.
I hope these Power Moves and Your Best You helps you expand your view of who you are and what you deserve, to the point that there will be no barrier to setting yourself apart and transforming you from an ordinary to an extraordinary woman.
